Aurelius Jeffrey was born in Beckley, West Virginia though he was raised in Brooklyn, New York. He supplemented his formal education with extensive travel across the country and abroad, honing his skills and perspective amongst the the diverse communities of artists encountered on his journeys. He has a background in film, photography, writing, bookmaking, and handcrafting metal jewelry. His focus integrates these fields in the crafting of artists books composed of textural, abstract photography and stream-of-conscience poetry. Aurelius currently lives in Charleston, West Virginia. Recent works were taken from the Appalachian trail in his backyard. His frames and paper are handcrafted from materials he finds in nature.
